Myth 2: You need to be in your job one year FULL–TIME
In a perfect world, one year of full-time employment would be great. Same job, full-time employment for over a year, and truth be told it does look good on your application, however, it is not always the case.
What options other than one year FULL-TIME can actually be financed..
We have seen many people that have been told from different lenders that they could not get a loan because they are:
- Employed casually for less than a year
- In a Full-Time position for less than six month in the same industry.
- Could not use all of their bonus or commission as part of their income.
We have achieved finance for all of these options it really is just a matter of matching the applicant to the right lender with an understanding of both parties specific situation. It is similar to going on a date and meeting the parents. Single word answers with no context are not going to cut the mustard. Hi I am a butcher, baker, candlestick maker is hardly selling yourself in the best possible light. A lender needs to feel comfortable (and they want to approve loans which is how they get paid too) and our role is to present you in the light that provides that comfort. So the story why you have had 3 different employers across the past 3 years will help. If you think about the changes what was your input and what were out of your control. If your company re-structured from one entity to another or changed hands yes your payslip will show different employers however the story still shows stability and ability to pay the mortgage. Then the explanation makes more sense that you have had similar roles across all these 3 payslips however you were approached to move from one employer to another and then they have a company re-structure makes a far more stable and consistent applicant.
